On Saturday 29 November 2025, Women’s Enovos Basketball League leaders T71 Dudelange extended their unbeaten run with an away victory against Sparta Bertrange on Game Day 8.

Mathieu Pierre Fivet’s (T71 Dudelange) team took control from the opening minutes, building a ten-point lead (28-18) by the end of the first quarter. American forward Lauren Anne Van Kleunen was particularly effective, contributing eleven points in the opening period.

Sparta were unable to close the gap before half-time, allowing Dudelange to extend their advantage to 47-33 heading into the third quarter.

Speaking to Chronicle.lu, Mathieu Pierre Fivet emphasised the importance of defensive discipline: “In the first half they scored only 33, and I think the key all season is to be strong in defence. That’s where we win something. Sometimes our shooting can be less good than today, but today we were very good. We knew they would start in zone defence in the second half because we scored 47 in the first half, and we were prepared for that. We controlled Jordan [Alexis King, Sparta Bertrange forward] all game, I think, and we were really strong offensively because we put a lot of balls inside the paint.”

In the second half, Dudelange point guard Catherine Mreches took over offensively, scoring eighteen points in the third quarter alone and extending the visitors’ lead to 76-52 heading into the final period. T71 then eased off, allowing Sparta to win a quarter for the first time in the game, but the league leaders ultimately sealed a 95-72 victory. Mreches finished as the game’s top scorer with 29 points.

Reflecting on the performance, coach Fivet noted the impact of finally having his full roster available: “It was the first time we played with our real starting five - until now, someone was always injured. We saw the difference immediately because we are a really tough team, and the young players from the club also did their job when we made rotations. I’m happy about that, but the goal is to win something. Winning now means nothing, the goal is to win in April.”

The result leaves T71 Dudelange with a perfect record of seven wins from seven games, while Sparta Bertrange now stand at four victories and three defeats. Two other teams share the same 4-3 record as Sparta: AB Contern and Amicale Steinsel. Contern claimed a 91-80 home win over Steinsel on Saturday, placing all three clubs jointly between second and fourth position in the standings.

On Sunday evening, in a matchup between the bottom-ranked sides, Musel Pikes secured a 54-40 away victory over Les Sangliers Wooltz.

On Wednesday 3 December 2025, the quarter-finals of the Coupe des Dames (LALUX Ladies Cup) are scheduled to take place.
