
On Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 April 2025, the latest fixtures in Luxembourg’s basketball Enovos Leagues took place, with first-leg semi-finals for the men’s teams and the women’s league confirming its second finalist for the championship.
Women’s Enovos League: Gréngewald Hueschtert Advance to Final
Following their first loss of the season, Regular Season champions Gréngewald Hueschtert secured a home victory in third game of the Women’s Enovos League semi-final series against T71 Dudelange. The hosts won three of the four quarters, building a thirteen-point lead by half-time (39-26), with forward Alexus Latrese Johnson contributing nineteen points in the first half. Heading into the final quarter with an eighteen-point advantage, Gréngewald allowed T71 to take the last ten minutes by a single point but ultimately claimed a 71-54 win. Johnson finished as the game’s standout performer with a record 34 points and 29 rebounds. Gréngewald will now face Sparta Bertrange in the final.
Men’s Enovos League: Amicale and Etzella Take First Step Toward Final
The men’s semi-final series began with Amicale Steinsel hosting T71 Dudelange. The first quarter was tightly contested, ending 19-18 in favour of the hosts. A strong run in the second quarter allowed Amicale to lead by five at the break and the gap widened further in the third, with guard Bob Melcher scoring nine points to help his side take a 66-56 lead. Despite a 30-point performance from T71 guard Edward Colbert, Amicale maintained control in the final quarter to seal an 82-71 win.
In the opening game of the second semi-final in the Men’s Enovos League, Regular Season winners Etzella Ettelbruck overcame Arantia Larochette at home. Despite trailing at half-time (40-43) after a strong first half from the visitors, the momentum shifted in the third quarter. Etzella’s forward Quatarrius Deaundrey Wilson and guard Philippe Gutenkauf led the charge, scoring twelve and eleven points respectively in the quarter, giving their team an eight-point advantage. Ettelbruck continued to dominate in the final stretch, ultimately securing an 87-69 victory. Wilson finished as the top scorer with 25 points and 19 rebounds.
The second-leg semi-finals in Larochette and Dudelange are scheduled to take place on Wednesday 9 April 2025.
