On Saturday 29 March 2025, the first-leg semi-final matches of Luxembourg's Women's Enovos Basketball League took place, with Gréngewald Hueschtert and Sparta Bertrange taking early leads in their respective series.
Regular season winners Gréngewald, who remain unbeaten in the league this season, hosted T71 Dudelange. The visitors held firm in the opening quarter, trailing by just two points. However, a nine-point surge in the second quarter gave the home side a comfortable lead heading into the break at 44-33. Guard Jovana Jaksic contributed eight points during this period, while centre Amanda Brooke Cahill and forward Tessy Hetting added seven each.
Gréngewald extended their lead further in the third quarter, with forward Alexus Latrese Johnson scoring seventeen of her team's 27 points, including two three-point shots. By the final quarter, T71 trailed by nineteen points. Despite narrowing the gap slightly in the last period, the visitors could not mount a full comeback. Gréngewald claimed an 81-63 victory, with Johnson recording a double-double of 30 points and 29 rebounds.
In the second semi-final, Sparta Bertrange also took a 1-0 lead in their series, though their encounter with AB Contern proved more closely contested than the first semi-final. The visitors led by five points after the first quarter, but Sparta pulled level by half-time at 34-34. Contern regained a five-point advantage by the end of the third quarter, driven by Brooke Madison Walling's eleven point contribution in that period.
However, Bertrange controlled the final quarter, limiting Contern to just eight points while scoring nineteen. Sparta's forward Kyaja Victoria Williams led all scorers with 22 points and added nine rebounds to her tally, helping secure a 66-60 win.
The second-leg matches in the best-of-three semi-final series are scheduled for Wednesday 2 April 2025.
