On Friday 14 and Saturday 15 February 2025, three basketball matches marked the conclusion of Game Day 3 in the second round of the regular season in the Women’s Enovos League, with games taking place across Luxembourg.

League leaders Gréngewald Hueschtert hosted second-placed Sparta Bertrange, who needed a win to keep their slim chances of catching the frontrunners alive. The visitors edged the first quarter by a single point, but by the end of the second, Gréngewald had gained momentum, heading into halftime with a 43:34 lead.

As the game progressed, the hosts saw their advantage slip away and with less than a minute remaining, Sparta took an 86:85 lead. However, Tessy Hetting’s two-pointer put Gréngewald back in front. Sparta’s Nicole Torresani had the chance to steal the win, but she missed her shot with just four seconds left on the clock. Gréngewald secured a narrow 87:86 victory, extending their unbeaten streak to 17 games (17:0) and clinching the top spot in the standings, which guarantees home-court advantage for the semi-finals and finals (should they qualify).

The game’s top scorer was forward Alexus Latrese Johnson, who delivered a double-double performance with 25 points and 16 rebounds.

In another matchup, third-placed AB Contern (11:6) hosted fourth-placed T71 Dudelange (9:8) in a battle in the regular season standings. The home side suffered their first defeat of 2025, missing the opportunity to draw level on points with Sparta Bertrange. T71 Dudelange secured a hard-fought 71:67 away victory, led by an outstanding performance from Joyce Etute, who recorded 26 points and 15 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Amicale Steesel (8:9) kept their playoff hopes alive with an 88:79 home win over bottom-placed Musel Pikes (2:15). The result left Amicale in fifth place, just one point behind the top four as the battle for postseason spots intensifies.

Game Day 3 in the second round:

Les Sangliers Wiltz – Basket Esch 76:81
Amicale Steesel – Musel Pikes 88:79
Gréngewald Hueschtert – Sparta Bertrange 87:86
