The regular season of Luxembourg’s ENOVOS LEAGUE basketball championship continued in recent days, with significant matches influencing the standings in both the men’s and women’s competitions.

Men’s ENOVOS LEAGUE: Etzella Ettelbruck Secure Top Spot

Etzella Ettelbruck reinforced their dominance in the men’s league, maintaining their lead in the race for the top seed in the playoffs.

In a highly anticipated match during Game Day 15, Etzella hosted second-place Basket Esch. With only one loss in their first fifteen games, the home team showed resilience. Leading by 12 points in the final quarter, Etzella held off a late surge from Basket Esch to secure a hard-fought 88:82 victory. Jimmie Taylor (23 points) and Philippe Gutenkauf (19 points) led the way for the league leaders.

This loss for Basket Esch allowed T71 Dudelange to climb to second place following a narrow 89:87 win over Sparta Bertrange on their home court. Amicale also capitalised on the opportunity, defeating Mambra Mamer 103:85 in an away game.

In the women’s competition, Gréngewald Hueschtert maintained their unbeaten record at the top of the standings. On Saturday 4 January 2024, they defeated bottom-placed Musel Pikes 95:60 on the road. Alexus Johnson delivered yet another impressive performance, recording a triple-double with 27 points, 19 rebounds and 14 assists.

Second-place Sparta Bertrange also solidified their position with a convincing 87:68 home win against second-to-last Basket Esch. Sparta now holds an 11:3 record, while Esch drops to 3:11.
