On Wednesday 6 November 2024, the City of Luxembourg opened its application process for its annual Prix Anne Beffort (Anne Beffort Prize), which rewards individuals, non-profit associations, groups or institutions that promote equal opportunities and gender equality in Luxembourg City.
The award, which was founded in 2003, is named after Anne Beffort, Luxembourg's first female professor and co-founder of the Lycée de Jeunes Filles in Luxembourg City.
The 2024 edition will be based on the theme "prevention and the fight against gender-based violence". These mainly concern violence against women and members of the LGBTQ+ community, but it should be noted that men can also be victims of such violence.
The City of Luxembourg, on the initiative of the Consultative Commission for Equal Opportunities, awards an annual prize of €3,000 to those who commit themselves day after day to a more egalitarian future and a society in which each person finds their place in the same way.
Those interested in applying are advised that applications should include a description of their commitments and link with the City of Luxembourg as well as respecting the theme of the competition, and must be submitted by email before Friday 15 November 2024.
