On Monday 22 January 2024, Luxembourg-based flibco.com, part of SLG, announced that its CEO, Tobias Stüber, has been nominated to represent Luxembourg in the European Young Leaders 40 (EYL40) programme organised by Friends of Europe.

EYL40 is a think tank co-funded by the European Union whose main aim is to stimulate debate to create a more inclusive, sustainable and forward-thinking in Europe. Xavier Bettel, Luxembourg’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, holds a position on the Board of Friends of Europe trustees.

The European Young Leaders 40 programme, organised annually by Friends of Europe, is a unique initiative that identifies and brings together 40 promising young leaders (between 30-40 years old) from various backgrounds, including politics, business, civil society, arts, science and the media. To foster a European identity, the programme engages these talents in initiatives that encourage innovative thinking for Europe's future.

Tobias Stüber, as the chosen representative for Luxembourg, expressed his pride and enthusiasm at this opportunity. In his statement, Tobias Stüber said: "I am very proud and honoured to represent Luxembourg at the European Young Leaders programme. This platform allows me to showcase that Luxembourg is not only a financial hub, but also a home to companies leading the way in innovation and digitalisation. I am thrilled to share the remarkable achievements of flibco.com, which are a testament to our commitment to new ways of working and digital transformation."

The EYL40 programme is a dynamic forum where accomplished young professionals from various fields converge to exchange ideas, collaborate and discuss critical issues facing Europe. Past participants have included government ministers, CEOs, film directors and influential journalists.

Each year, the new EYL40 class engages in two three-day seminars held in different European cities, reflecting the continent's rich history and diversity. These gatherings provide a platform for participants, including EYL40 alumni, decision-makers, key European actors, stakeholders and local citizens, to collectively address common concerns and develop concrete proposals to tackle challenges in Europe.

flibco.com expressed its optimism that Stüber's participation will both contribute insights to the discussions and shed light on the transformative changes the company has undergone. Following each seminar, a comprehensive document summarising the main outcomes of the discussions will be created. flibco.com stressed that it hopes the experiences gained and changes implemented within the company will provide valuable perspectives into new ways of working.
