On Tuesday 6 October 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that two suspects have been arrested following a burglary in Luxembourg-Belair.

According to the police, on Friday 2 October, a burglary took place on Rue des Aubépines in Luxembourg-Belair. On Saturday 3 October, the victim was able to locate their mobile phone and as part of a police investigation, two suspects were identified and subsequently located. Some of the stolen items were recovered.

On the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, both men were arrested and brought before the investigating judge.

Additionally, the police have also reported that on Monday 5 October they received reports of several burglaries at residential and commercial premises across Luxembourg.

In one case, several electronic devices, including a tablet and a laptop, were stolen from a medical practice on Rue Victor Hugo in Esch-sur-Alzette. Further investigations have been initiated.

At around 15:00 on the same day, the police were informed that one or more unknown perpetrators had gained access through a balcony door to an apartment in a multi-unit residential building on Rue des Maraichers in Luxembourg-Kirchberg. To do so, a windowpane was damaged and the window handle was operated from the outside. Several rooms and cupboards inside the apartment were searched. According to initial findings, cash was stolen.

Moreover, at around 17:00, a burglary at a detached house on Garerstroos in Wecker was also reported. Two suspected perpetrators smashed a windowpane and then searched the house. Electronic devices, jewellery and other personal belongings were stolen, among other items. Further investigations are ongoing.

In this context, the police remind the public to ensure that doors and windows are securely locked when leaving homes and houses and not to keep keys in easily accessible places. Basement, balcony and terrace entrances should also be secured accordingly. Suspicious observations should be reported immediately by calling the police emergency number on 113.
