On Monday 5 October 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported on two physical altercations which took place in Hunsdorf and Differdange on Sunday 4 October, one of which resulted in a man being struck in the face with a dog lead.

According to the police, at around 16:10, they received a report of a physical altercation at a playground on Rue Pierre Mergen in Hunsdorf. According to initial information, an unleashed dog had run towards several children. When one of the adults present confronted the dog owner about this, a verbal dispute broke out. The dog owner subsequently pushed the man and struck him in the face with a dog lead, causing an injury to his face.

The suspect had already left the scene by the time officers arrived. An immediate search was unsuccessful and further investigations were launched.

Later that same evening, another physical altercation took place between two men following a football match near a primary school in Differdange. One of those involved sustained injuries. By the time officers arrived, the alleged perpetrator had already left the scene.

Shortly afterwards, another dispute related to the same incident broke out between the victim and another person. Police were able to settle the dispute at the scene. The previously injured man was examined by the emergency services and subsequently went to hospital for further examination.

Further investigations are ongoing. In both cases, the relevant reports were drawn up.
