On Thursday 1 October 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that two individuals were recently arrested for shoplifting offences in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg and Strassen.
According to the police, at approximately 13:30 on Tuesday 29 September they received a report of a shoplifting incident at a shop on Avenue Pasteur in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg. According to initial findings, a man had attempted to steal several bottles of alcohol worth €55 but was interrupted by security staff. A police patrol went to the scene.
During a check and a body search, suspected burglary equipment was also seized. On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, the man was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on the morning of Thursday 1 October.
At around 14:00 on Wednesday 30 September, the police received a report of a shoplifting incident at a shopping centre on Route d’Arlon in Strassen. According to initial findings, a man had attempted to take a pair of shoes past the checkout using a specially prepared shopping bag. However, security staff became suspicious and were able to detain the man until the police arrived.
On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, the man was arrested and brought before an investigating judge. The items he was carrying were confiscated.
