Luxembourg’s Prison Administration has reported that on the morning of Friday 25 September 2026, at around 06:00, an inmate was found dead in his cell at Uerschterhaff Prison (CPU).
According to the administration, a doctor from the medical centre attended the scene and confirmed the death. The judicial authorities ordered an autopsy, while the administration informed the inmate’s relatives of his death.
A representative of the External Control of Places of Deprivation of Liberty, the Director General of the Prison Administration, the Director of Uerschterhaff Prison and the Grand Ducal Police attended the scene.
