On Thursday 24 September 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported a number of arrests following fraudulent use of a credit card, shoplifting and breaking into a vehicle.
According to the police, at 16:00 on Tuesday 22 September the police were notified of credit card fraud on Rue de la Gare in Leudelange. As part of the search launched, officers initially identified a suspicious vehicle that had previously come to their attention in connection with credit card fraud. The driver was apprehended, and a large amount of cash was seized from the vehicle. As part of the further investigation, officers were able to apprehend another suspicious individual with the help of the description of the perpetrator.
On the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office, both individuals were arrested and brought before an investigating judge. Money, mobile phones and the vehicle were also seized.
Later, at approximately 18:00, the police were notified of a theft at a shop on Rue du Fort Neipperg in the Luxembourg-Gare district. According to initial findings, a man had stolen several items.
On the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the man was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on the morning of Wednesday 23 September.
Moreover, shortly after 01:00 on Wednesday 23 September, the police were notified of a theft involving a break-in to a vehicle on Rue Mercier in Luxembourg-Gare. According to initial findings, a man had stolen a laptop from a vehicle. At the scene, officers apprehended two suspicious individuals.
On the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office, one of the two individuals was arrested and brought before an investigating judge later that same day.
