2 Driving Licences Withdrawn, 42 Fines Issued During Police Traffic Checks

The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a large number of fines were issued to drivers following large-scale traffic checks in northern Luxembourg on Wednesday 23 September 2026.

According to the police, the focus of the checks was on speeding, the use of mobile phones while driving and the wearing of seat belts.

A total of 59 offences were recorded, including 35 fixed-penalty notices for using a mobile phone while driving (€250 and four points), two fixed-penalty notices for failing to wear a seat belt (€145 and two points), five fixed-penalty notices and two reports for exceeding the permitted maximum speed, as well as two reports involving the immediate withdrawal of driving licences for exceeding the permitted maximum speed.

A total of seventeen officers took part in the checks in Hosingen and Fridhaff.
