The Grand Ducal Police has reported several road-related incidents on Tuesday 22 September 2026, including two cases involving drink-driving and a physical altercation between a motorist and a bus driver.
At around 15:20, the police received a report concerning a driver in Tétange who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Officers later located the man at his home address, where an alcohol test returned a positive result. The police also established that he was already subject to a driving ban and that no valid insurance could be produced for the vehicle.
Following consultation with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, officers seized the vehicle and drew up the corresponding reports.
In a separate case at around 17:00, a police patrol noticed a vehicle carrying out a dangerous overtaking manoeuvre on a bend in Rue de la Gare in Leudelange. Officers checked the driver shortly afterwards, with an alcohol test also returning a positive result. The police subsequently issued a temporary driving ban and drew up a report.
Later that evening, at around 20:00, the police received a report of an altercation on Route de Belvaux in Oberkorn. According to initial information, a bus driver had sounded his horn at a motorist following a disagreement in traffic. The motorist then stopped his vehicle, blocked the bus’s path and struck the bus driver in the face through the open window.
The suspect subsequently left the scene in his vehicle. The police initiated further investigations and drew up a report
