On Tuesday 22 September 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported the arrest of a man following an alleged sexual assault and physical attack in Luxembourg-Gare.
On the evening of Sunday 20 September, police initially received a report of an altercation between a man and a woman in Rue Sainte-Zithe. A female passer-by reportedly noticed the incident and helped the woman escape, after which an altercation broke out between the man and the passer-by.
According to the police, when the passer-by attempted to flee, the man followed her and struck her several times. He then allegedly sexually assaulted her.
The man reportedly stopped when several other passers-by noticed the incident. Police officers arriving at the scene apprehended the suspect and, on the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office, placed him under arrest.
