The Grand Ducal Police has reported several violent incidents in Luxembourg City, taking place on Sunday 13 September 2026, which left multiple people injured.
At around 17:50, police received a report of a violent theft at a petrol station on Route de Thionville in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie. According to initial information, two individuals approached a man before suddenly attacking him and stealing his wallet, which contained personal documents and bank cards.
The two suspects fled on foot but police officers located them shortly afterwards. Police noted a strong smell of alcohol on both men.
The victim suffered a head wound and injuries around one eye. He was taken to hospital for medical treatment. Police filed a report and launched further investigations.
Shortly afterwards, at around 18:10, police received a report of a physical altercation outside a café on Rue de Strasbourg in the Luxembourg-Gare district. According to initial information, two men had struck another person with a metal bar. One of the suspects also allegedly used the bar to damage a window of a nearby establishment.
Officers found an injured man at the scene and he was taken to hospital for medical treatment, while police located the two suspects shortly afterwards. Both were reportedly heavily intoxicated and uncooperative.
As police considered them a danger to themselves or others and found that they were disturbing public order, officers temporarily placed both men in protective custody and filed reports in connection with the incident.
Later that evening, at around 23:00, police received a report of another larger altercation involving several people in the Rue du Fort Bourbon area. Those involved had already left by the time officers arrived.
Shortly afterwards, officers found an injured man on Avenue de la Gare near Luxembourg Central Station. He had sustained several head injuries and received medical treatment at the scene. Police launched further investigations.
