A yellow weather warning (indicating "potential danger") is in place for the south of Luxembourg from 12:00 on Wednesday 12 August until 07:00 on Thursday 13 August 2026. A further yellow warning will apply to the north from 07:00 on Thursday 13 August until 07:00 on Friday 14 August.
Meanwhile, an orange weather warning (indicating "danger") will be in place for the south from 07:00 on Thursday 13 August until 07:00 on Friday 14 August.
According to MeteoLux, moderate heat stress is expected under the yellow warning, with fatigue and heat exhaustion possible during prolonged exposure or physical activity. Under the orange warning, high heat stress is expected, with persistently high temperatures for at least two consecutive days. Heat exhaustion is likely, while heat stroke is possible during prolonged exposure or physical activity.
Temperatures are forecast to reach 34°C to 36°C in the south on Thursday afternoon, compared with 32°C to 34°C in the north.
