On Monday 27 July 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported several criminal incidents across Luxembourg over the weekend, including an attempted necklace theft, an assault and theft, as well as multiple burglaries.

At around 14:15 on Saturday 25 July, a burglary was reported at Place Jeanne d'Arc in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie, where several basement storage units in an apartment building were broken into.

Later that day, at around 16:45, two suspects allegedly approached a man from behind near the church in Grevenmacher and attempted to snatch the necklace from around his neck. The victim managed to fend off the suspects, who fled the scene. He was not injured.

Police carried out search operations and opened investigations in both cases.

During the night of Sunday 26 July, police were called to an assault and theft in Luxembourg-Clausen. According to initial information, a man was assaulted by two other men before managing to seek safety on a bus. When he later got off the bus, he discovered that his cash and a necklace had been stolen.

At around 01:10 on Sunday, another burglary was reported at a house on Route de Gilsdorf in Diekirch. During a subsequent search operation, officers located two men matching the suspects' descriptions. They were taken to a police station for identification procedures, and further investigations are ongoing.
