On Friday 24 July 2026, Luxembourg’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade reported on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Xavier Bettel’s working visit to Manila and the Philippines.
According to the ministry, the visit to the Philippines, which took place from Wednesday 22 to Friday 24 July, provided an opportunity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Luxembourg and the Philippines, hold discussions with political and business representatives and to participate in the commemorative event marking the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), organised by the Philippine Presidency of ASEAN.
Minister Bettel’s working visit will continue in Singapore on Saturday 25 July 2026 and will include the inauguration of the Embassy of Luxembourg in Singapore. Minister Bettel will also meet Lee Hsien Loong, Senior Minister, Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs, and representatives of the business community.
