On Friday 24 July 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that two suspects had been apprehended overnight following the use of stolen bank cards at a shop in Luxembourg-Gare.
According to the initial information, during the early hours of Friday, the police received a report that two individuals had attempted to pay with allegedly stolen bank cards at a shop in Luxembourg’s train station district.
One of the suspects was located shortly afterwards by a police patrol. The second suspect initially fled towards Avenue de la Liberté but was apprehended a short time later in Rue de Strasbourg as part of the search operation launched by police.
During a search of the second suspect, officers found several bank cards. Further investigations revealed that the vehicle belonging to the owner of the bank cards had previously been searched. The cards were seized and subsequently returned to their rightful owner.
An investigation was launched and several official reports were drawn up.
