On Tuesday 30 June 2026, the City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg - VdL) inaugurated a second community space, or “tiers-lieu” (third place), in Luxembourg-Eich, following the success of the first such venue established in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie.
According to VdL, the building, designed as a multi-purpose space capable of accommodating a wide variety of uses and activities, aims to strengthen social ties and encourage interaction among residents of the city's northern districts.
The new third place will serve the neighbourhoods of Beggen, Dommeldange, Eich, Mühlenbach and Weimerkirch through a varied programme of social, cultural and participatory activities, noted the VdL, adding that tt has been conceived as an open space where residents can meet, exchange ideas, obtain information, take part in activities, receive support with certain administrative or social procedures and develop social connections.
The venue will be managed and run by the ASTI (Association for the Support of Immigrant Workers), which is actively involved in community work in the capital's northern districts. In collaboration with local residents, partner associations and external contributors, ASTI will develop a programme of regular and one-off activities tailored to the needs of the local community. Residents will also be encouraged to propose and develop their own community initiatives.
Located at 145 Rue de Mühlenbach, the new multi-purpose space is open Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 to 18:00 and Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00.
