The Grand Ducal Police have reported that four drivers were sanctioned for drink-driving offences following separate incidents recorded across Luxembourg on Sunday 21 and in the early hours of Monday 22 June 2026.
At approximately 15:20 on Sunday, police received a report of a possibly intoxicated driver in Medernach. Officers stopped the vehicle between Stegen and Medernach and found that the driver showed clear signs of alcohol consumption. A breath alcohol test returned a positive result and the driver's licence was confiscated.
Later that day, at around 18:35, police were called to a traffic accident in a roundabout in Bous. According to initial information, the driver lost control of her vehicle while entering the roundabout and collided with a wall in the centre of the junction. The driver and passengers were taken to hospital for precautionary checks. As the driver showed strong signs of alcohol consumption, a temporary driving ban was issued and a report was drawn up.
At approximately 19:20, police received a report of a vehicle being driven erratically on the A13 motorway. Officers located the driver shortly afterwards. A breath alcohol test returned a positive result and the driver's licence was confiscated.
During the night of Sunday to Monday, a police patrol observed a vehicle travelling in an erratic manner on the N12 towards Asselborn. The vehicle was stopped immediately and the driver underwent a breath alcohol test. The result was positive and the driver's licence was confiscated.
