On Tuesday 16 June 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that two suspects were arrested following an incident of theft from a vehicle in Luxembourg-Hollerich and a shoplifting incident at a supermarket in Ettelbruck.
According to the police, on the morning of Sunday 14 June, they received a report of a theft from a vehicle on Boulevard Dr Charles Marx in Luxembourg-Hollerich, where a suspect had gained access to the interior of the vehicle, searched through it and stolen a wallet. Subsequently, several payments were made using the bank cards contained within the wallet. As part of a search operation, the suspect was later located in a supermarket. The stolen property was seized and, on the instructions of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, he was arrested.
On the evening of Monday 15 June, a shoplifting incident was reported at a supermarket in Ettelbruck. A police patrol was able to locate the suspected offender at the scene, where she showed clear signs of alcohol consumption. Due to her intoxicated state and because she was disturbing public order, she was taken into custody following a medical examination. A report was prepared.
