The Grand Ducal Police have reported several incidents involving burglaries and drink driving that occurred on Thursday 4 and Friday 5 June 2026 across Luxembourg.

On Thursday afternoon, a burglary was reported at an apartment in a residential building on Rue Prince Jean in Pétange. According to initial information, unknown perpetrators gained access to the property, searched it for valuables and stole cash.

Later that evening, police received a report of an attempted burglary at a detached house in Val Sainte-Croix in Luxembourg-Belair. According to initial information, unknown perpetrators attempted to gain entry through a window but were unsuccessful. Investigations are ongoing in both cases.

Police also reported two separate drink-driving incidents during the night of Friday. A vehicle was first reported driving erratically on the A7 motorway near the Colmar-Berg exit. The driver was stopped shortly afterwards by a police patrol, tested positive for alcohol and had their driving licence confiscated.

Later the same night, a police patrol in Rue Jean-Pierre Bicheler in Foetz found a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road with the driver asleep at the wheel. Officers detected a strong smell of alcohol and a subsequent alcohol test returned a positive result. A provisional driving ban was issued.
