The Grand Ducal Police reported on Wednesday 3 June 2026 that two suspected burglars had been arrested following alleged break-ins in Lintgen and Bereldange, while officers were also searching for three individuals who reportedly evaded a traffic control in the Noertzange area.
The Répression du Grand Banditisme (Suppression of Organised Crime) division of the Luxembourg Criminal Police noticed a suspicious vehicle in the Lintgen area during a proactive patrol operation on Tuesday 2 June 2026.
After checking the buildings, police discovered that two apartments in a residential building in Lintgen had been burgled. Additional officers later observed the suspects allegedly attempting to carry out further break-ins in Bereldange.
The two individuals were subsequently caught in the act. On the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office, both suspects were arrested.
Investigations into the burglaries and the possible involvement of the suspects in other similar offences are ongoing.
In a separate incident, police said they were searching for three individuals in the Noertzange area after they allegedly failed to stop for a traffic control. The individuals are believed to be travelling on foot.
The search operation was ongoing at the time of publication. Police advised members of the public not to pick up hitchhikers in the Noertzange area and asked anyone who notices suspicious individuals in the vicinity to contact the emergency number 113 immediately.
