The Grand Ducal Police have reported that following a large-scale traffic operation in Luxembourg City on Monday 1 June 2026, 44 fixed penalty notices were issued to drivers.

According to the police, several traffic checks took place throughout Monday in the districts of Gasperich, Cessange and Cloche d’Or.

Among other offences, 20 drivers received a fixed penalty for speeding and four drivers were penalised for irregularities in vehicle documentation (technical inspection, road tax disc).

Eleven drivers were found to be using their mobile phones while driving (€250 and four penalty points), one driver failed to respect a red traffic light and eight drivers had parked their vehicles in a way that obstructed traffic.

In two cases, formal reports also had to be drawn up: in one case due to a serious speeding offence and in another because the vehicle was uninsured, not properly registered and defects were identified with the security of a load being transported.
