The Grand Ducal Police has reported a recent traffic accident involving an electric scooter (e-scooter) and a delivery van in Pétange, as well as a robbery in Ettelbruck.
Police responded to the traffic accident on the morning of Wednesday 28 May 2026 at the intersection of Rue des Jardins and Route de Longwy in Pétange. The collision involved a delivery van and an e-scooter.
Officers who arrived at the scene identified the parties involved and carried out a roadside drug test, which turned out positive for the electric scooter rider. As the person riding the e-scooter sustained injuries in the accident, emergency services transported the individual to hospital for examination.
Police checks also revealed that the e-scooter's maximum speed significantly exceeded the legal limit. Authorities have opened further investigations to determine the exact circumstances of the accident and filed an official report.
In a separate incident during the night of Thursday 29 May 2026, police received a report of a robbery in a parking area in Ettelbruck. According to the Initial information, the victim was sitting in a vehicle with the window open when two individuals on a motorcycle approached.
The suspects allegedly snatched a mobile phone from the victim's hand and stole a bag from their lap before fleeing with the stolen items. Police have launched an investigation.
