The Grand Ducal Police have reported an incident involving illegal possession of weapons, two burglaries and a serious traffic accident which took place on Tuesday 26 May 2026.
During the afternoon, police received a report concerning a man in Avenue de la Liberté in Luxembourg-Gare who had allegedly threatened another person with a baton. Several police patrols were immediately dispatched to the scene and located the suspect. A baton and a knife were seized from him. A report for illegal possession of weapons was filed and the individual was taken to the detention centre for foreigners awaiting deportation (Centre de rétention).
Also during the afternoon, a burglary was reported at a detached house in Pintsch. According to initial information, an unknown perpetrator gained access to the property and searched through the interior.
Another burglary was reported at a detached house on Rue du Centre in Ehlange. Police said perpetrators forced open a window to gain access to the property before searching through the interior. Investigations are ongoing in both cases.

At midday, police received a report of a traffic accident in Soleuvre involving a cyclist who crashed into a bus stop. Officers arriving at the scene found the victim seriously injured. After receiving initial treatment on site, he was transported to hospital for further treatment.
According to initial information, the cyclist had been travelling at high speed towards Rue Scheierhaff before suddenly turning left and colliding with the bus stop, causing him to fall through its glass panel. An accident report was filed.
