On Wednesday 20 May 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported two arrests were made overnight following threats made to an individual in Luxembourg-Neudorf and a physical altercation in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.

According to the initial information, at around 03:50 on Wednesday 20 May, the police received a report of a man with a knife on Rue Marie et Joseph Hackin in Luxembourg-Neudorf, who is alleged to have made death threats against another man.

A police patrol immediately went to the scene and was able to locate the suspect. During a body search, several knives were found.

At the instruction of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the items were seized and the suspect was arrested. The suspect was brought before an investigating judge on the afternoon of Wednesday 20 May.

Also in the early hours of Wednesday 20 May, police officers in Luxembourg-Kirchberg were alerted to an unconscious man in a reception facility for individuals applying for international protection.

The officers immediately went to the scene and alerted the emergency services. According to initial information, there had previously been a physical altercation between the victim and another man. The victim sustained life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was also located at the scene. At the instruction of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, he was arrested and was brought before an investigating judge on the morning of Wednesday 20 May.
