On Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 March 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported several incidents across Luxembourg, including thefts involving bank cards, multiple thefts from vehicles in Esch-sur-Alzette and Remich, and the arrest of a suspected burglar in Ettelbruck.

Police reported several thefts from vehicles. One such incident occurred in Esch-sur-Alzette, on Monday evening, where an unidentified individual gained access to a vehicle and stole a wallet. In Remich, earlier that afternoon, a perpetrator broke a window to enter a vehicle and took a handbag. Investigations have been launched in both cases, and police have reminded the public to follow preventive advice.

In a separate incident, police arrested a suspected burglar following a reported break-in at a shop in Grand-Rue in Ettelbruck on Tuesday night. According to initial information, the suspect entered the premises and attempted to steal a cash register. During a subsequent search operation, police received a report of an attempted burglary in Colmar-Berg, where the suspects fled on bicycles. Officers located and stopped them shortly afterwards in the direction of Bissen.

Further investigations linked one of the suspects to the Ettelbruck burglary. On the instructions of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, police arrested the suspect and brought him before an investigating judge.

Also, police issued a call for witnesses in connection with trick thefts, during which bank cards were stolen and later used for payments or cash withdrawals. Officers are seeking to identify two individuals and have asked anyone with relevant information to contact the Walferdange police station on (+352) 244 41 1000 or by email at police.walferdange@police.etat.lu
