On Friday 27 March 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported several arrests for shoplifting, drug dealing and burglary across Luxembourg which occurred on Thursday 26 March.

According to the initial information, on Thursday afternoon the police were called to a shop on Route de Longwy in Bartringen after two men were reported to have attempted to steal several items of clothing. One of the men fled the scene. The second was promptly detained by security staff.

A police patrol attended the scene and the stolen goods, which the fleeing suspect had left behind, were recovered. On the instructions of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the detained suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge. Investigations into the second suspect are ongoing.

Also on Thursday afternoon, the police were called to a shop on Avenue de Luxembourg in Bascharage after a transaction between three men was reported, which may have involved a drug deal. The suspected drug dealer was located at the scene shortly afterwards by a police patrol. As he behaved suspiciously, it was decided to carry out a check. During the body search, officers seized and confiscated cash and mobile phones, among other items. 

Following further investigations and on the instructions of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the suspected drug dealer was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on the morning of Friday 27 March.

Later, on Thursday evening, a burglary was reported at a detached house on Rue Ermesinde in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg, where, according to initial information, two offenders gained access to the interior and ransacked it. However, they were disturbed by the arrival of a police unit, whereupon one of the two fled the scene. The second was apprehended at the location. Stolen goods as well as burglary tools were seized and confiscated. A search for the second suspect was launched but has, to date, been unsuccessful.

On the instructions of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the suspected burglar was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on the morning of Friday 27 March.
