The Grand Ducal Police have reported the arrest of a suspected drug dealer following a traffic control check in Diekirch on Tuesday 24 March 2026.
According to the police, on Tuesday evening a vehicle was checked during a routine traffic control in Diekirch, where it was found that the driver was subject to a partial driving ban. In addition, the vehicle’s roadworthiness certificate and tax disc had expired.
As officers also found the remnants of a cannabis joint in the vehicle, it was searched. During the search, several containers each holding small quantities of cocaine and ketamine, as well as fifteen ecstasy tablets, were discovered. A bag of cannabis, equipment used for the preparation and consumption of drugs, and cash were also seized.
A roadside drug test carried out on the driver also returned a positive result. This resulted in a further driving ban being issued.
On the instructions of the public prosecutor, the man was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on the morning of Wednesday 25 March 2026.
