The Grand Ducal Police have reported that on Sunday 22 March 2026, two driving licences were revoked following drink-driving incidents in Mersch.
According to the initial information, on Sunday afternoon, the police received a report of a vehicle on Rue de Colmar-Berg in Mersch, whose driver was possibly under the influence of alcohol.
The vehicle and the driver were located shortly afterwards by a police patrol. Following a positive breathalyser result, a provisional driving ban was issued.
On Sunday evening, the police received a report of a vehicle on the A7 near the cemetery that was driving erratically and had also nearly caused an accident.
A police patrol located the driver shortly afterwards in the car park of the Parc Hotel. During the check, the driver showed clear signs of alcohol consumption and was subjected to a breathalyser test, which returned a positive result. The driver’s licence was revoked by the officers.
