The Grand Ducal Police have reported that several incidents of drink-driving occurred across Luxembourg earlier this week.
At around 02:20 on Tuesday 9 December 2025, a police patrol in Lintgen noticed a vehicle travelling at high speed in the middle of the two-lane roadway on Rue de Diekirch. Officers stopped the vehicle shortly afterwards. The female driver's breathalyser test came back positive, and a temporary driving ban was issued.
At approximately 16:20 on Tuesday, a vehicle was reported for swerving on the CR226 in the direction of Itzig. A police patrol located the driver shortly after and confiscated her driving licence following a positive breathalyser test.
At around 18:30 that same day, a traffic accident involving two cars occurred on Rue des Jardins in Gilsdorf. A breathalyser test on one of the drivers came back positive and he received a provisional driving ban. A report was filed.
Later that evening, at approximately 22:45, a vehicle overturned on a traffic accident on the A3 motorway near Croix de Gasperich. The driver was taken to hospital for examination. His breathalyser test also came back positive and he received a provisional driving ban. An accident report was filed.
During the night of Tuesday 9 to Wednesday 10 December 2025, a police patrol on Boulevard d'Avranches in Luxembourg City noticed a vehicle being driven erratically. Officers stopped the driver shortly afterwards. During the check, they observed clear signs of alcohol consumption and the driver subsequently tested positive for both alcohol and drugs. He too received a temporary driving ban, and a report was filed.
