The Grand Ducal Police have reported that during the evening of Sunday 30 November 2025, they carried out alcohol intoxication checks on the instruction of the Public Prosecutor, as provided for in Article 12, paragraph 3, subparagraph 8 of the amended law of 14 February 1955 concerning traffic regulations on all public roads.
According to the police, the checks took place specifically in Wiltz and Noertrange, from 18:00 to 21:00.
In total 341 drivers were subjected to a preliminary breath test, even in the absence of any serious indication. In seven cases, the test proved positive and four reports and three fixed-penalty warnings were issued. In one case, a driving licence was confiscated on site.
The police also reported that during the checks, four other traffic offences were detected. In one case, a report was issued for driving without a valid driving licence.
