The Grand Ducal Police have reported two recent burglaries in central Luxembourg.
On Friday 7 November 2025, the police were searching for suspects following an attempted burglary in Niederfeulen. They later reported that the search had proven unsuccessful and was called off.
Another burglary was later reported in Bissen, prompting a search for suspects in this area.
In both cases, the police urged the public to immediately report any suspicious individuals or vehicles to the emergency number 113 and not to pick up any hitchhikers.
Update: The police later provided additional details about these burglaries, in addition to others. Around 18:30 on Friday, a resident of Niederfeulen reported suspicious noises and a broken window at their house to the police. Unknown perpetrators had smashed the window but then fled without entering the house. The police launched an immediate large-scale search for the suspected burglars, but it was unsuccessful.
Around 19:45, a witness reported burglars at a house in Bissen. They had forced open a patio door to gain entry, ransacked the house and then fled. An immediate police search again proved unsuccessful.
Shortly before midnight, a resident who had heard a noise earlier encountered a stranger in his apartment in Luxemburg-Grund. When confronted, the suspect fled. He had forced open a window to gain entry to the apartment.
An earlier burglary occurred at a house in Mondercange on Friday afternoon. Later that evening, another house in Bissen was reported to have been burglarised.
Moreover, during the night leading into Saturday 8 November 2025, unknown perpetrators broke into the garage of a house in Luxembourg-Rollingergrund and stole three bicycles.
An investigation has been launched.
