On Friday 5 September 2025, First Alderman of Luxembourg City, Maurice Bauer, Alderman Patrick Goldschmidt, Alderwoman Simone Beissel and President of the FNCF national federation of showmen, Charles Hary, attended the traditional Schueberfouer Mass at the Glacis Chapel in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg.

The service, attended by approximately 150 people, was led by Father Patrick Muller and paid respect to John the Blind (Jean l’Aveugle), King of Bohemia and Count of Luxembourg, who founded the Schueberfouer in 1340.

The ceremony was followed by a ceremonial walk led by the Alderman to the monument for John the Blind located in the public garden on Rue Nicolas Adames.

Wreaths of flowers were placed at the monument by the Aldermen and a moment’s silence was observed before a three-piece band performed a variety of traditional French and Luxembourgish music for the gathered attendees.
