The Grand Ducal Police have reported that several warnings were issued and one licence revoked after alcohol checks across Luxembourg during the evening of Friday 29 August through to the early hours of Saturday 30 August 2025.

According to the initial report, on Friday 29 August 2025, between 23:00 and 24:00, the Police conducted an alcohol check on Rue du Village in Schoenfels.

Police officers examined a total of 64 drivers using a summary breath test, even when there was no serious indication of alcohol use.

The tests returned positive results in three cases and the Police issued tax-notified warnings for each. Officers also confiscated one driving licence immediately.

On Saturday 30 August 2025, between 00:30 and 01:30, the Police conducted another alcohol check on Rue de Luxembourg in Tuntange.

Police officers examined 42 drivers with a summary breath test, even in the absence of serious indications.

The tests returned a positive result in one case and the police issued a tax-notified warning.

The Police stated that the alcohol checks were carried out following a request from the State Prosecutor, in accordance with Article 12, paragraph 3, subparagraph 8 of the amended law of 14 February 1955, which regulates traffic on all public roads.
