On the evening of Thursday 28 August 2025, the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) welcomed tourist professionals and industry guests to the LUGA Lab in Parc Odendahl in Luxembourg-Pfaffenthal for the launch of their “A bubble full of life” marketing campaign.
The event began with a gathering in the park area, where refreshments were provided by the hosts, before attendees moved inside the LUGA Lab temporary structure for the official presentation.
The presentation, hosted by Christian Schmit, featured a speech from Luxembourg MEP Marc Angel, who welcomed the speakers and attendees and spoke of the relationship between CityDNA and the LCTO, noting their “partnership, collaboration, cooperation and storytelling”.
He said: “They are working almost day and night to make people feel welcome here, to make people feel at home here and to see that Luxembourg City is a good place to spend a few days.”
There then followed a roundtable discussion with contributions from President City Destinations Alliance/City DNA, Barbara Jamison-Woods, Director of the Luxembourg City Tourist Office, Antje Voss, founder and CEO of Skin Creative Studio, Dominique Weber, and Filmmaker, Raoul Schmitz.
Barbara Jamison-Woods talked of the work of the CityDNA project, an alliance of 125 cities across 38 European countries who promote recreational and business tourism. She said: “We really value our members and it is a very trusting network that we have. And I think the long standing commitment of Antje and the team at Luxembourg is testament to the efficacy of what we do together. We have the same values, we share the knowledge and it is all about enhancing the work that all of our cities do, whether it is a small or a large city.”
Antje Voss then spoke of the work undertaken by the LCTO with CityDNA, remarking that “CityDNA gives us really a platform, an excellent platform for researchers, for lots of topics that are of interest for us”.
Raoul Schmitz was then invited to discuss the process behind the making of the video for the “A bubble full of life” campaign and fulfilling the remit put to them by the LCTO. He said: “They knew very clearly what they wanted to communicate with the core values, the core messages like cultural diversity, but also that [Luxembourg] is super laid back and accessible. And not only that, they also knew what tone they wanted to speak in, so they were very clear that they wanted something funny and still authentic.”
Dominique Weber then thanked the LCTO for their support. He stated: “I am glad that they allowed us to be bold and to produce something that will also, I am pretty sure, generate more shares because it is funny and it is an internet sort of humour that will translate also to younger generations.”
There then followed the first showing of the “A bubble full of life” promotional video, which sees two British tourists “Maggie” and “Dot” making a brief trip to Luxembourg City, only to fall in love with its history, culture and people and deciding to stay.
When asked about her thoughts on how people will react to the video, actress Niamh Huggard, who plays “Maggie”, said: “I think that this film will actually show them the sights that we see, that we bring our visitors to and encourage them to think of Luxembourg as a place to come, not just to pass through.”
The event concluded with a networking cocktail in the park with food and refreshments supplied by the hosts.
