
The Grand Ducal Police have reported recent incidents involving excessive speeding as well as several burglaries.
At around 17:30 on Tuesday 22 July 2025, police officers carried out a speed check on the N11 in Junglinster, near the bridge. During this operation, two motorcycles were recorded travelling at 168 km/h and 172 km/h, respectively, in a 90 km/h zone. The motorcyclists were stopped and each received a driving ban. The police issued an official report.
Moreover, on Wednesday 23 July 2025, the police noted they had received reports of several burglaries in recent hours. One such incident took place on Tuesday afternoon at a single-family home on Rue de Merl in Luxembourg City. The perpetrators broke into the property, searched all the rooms and stole several items.
Another burglary was reported at around 04:30 on Wednesday in an apartment building on Rue Notre-Dame in Kayl. Two perpetrators gained access to a cellar and - according to initial information - stole several bottles of wine.
Investigations have been launched in both cases.
