
On Wednesday 25 June 2025, the Grand Ducal Police shared a press release from the Luxembourg Public Prosecutor's Office regarding a major operation targeting organised crime.
As part of a large-scale investigation conducted over several months - initiated by the Public Prosecutor's Office and later led by an investigating judge - the judicial police (Répression Grand Banditism - RGB department) carried out a national operation against organised crime on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 June 2025, in cooperation with French and German authorities in their respective territories. The judicial police were supported by the police canine unit, as well as by agents from the Customs and Excise Agency (ADA) and its canine unit.
The investigation concerns a series of at least 48 house burglaries committed between January 2023 and December 2024 in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, resulting in losses exceeding €700,000. The alleged perpetrators resided mainly in France and Germany.
On Tuesday, the police arrested four people in northeastern France on the basis of European arrest warrants issued by the Luxembourg authorities.
On Wednesday, another suspect was arrested in Luxembourg and is scheduled to appear before the investigating judge (in Luxembourg) on the morning of Thursday 26 June 2025.
As part of the ongoing investigation, the authorities carried out several searches in Luxembourg and abroad.
The police reiterated the presumption of innocence.
