On Saturday, 21 June 2025, Luxembourg began commemorating the National Day (23 June) with numerous festivities taking place across the country, which marked the 25th anniversary of the reign of Grand Duke Henri.

The anniversary celebrations began at Place Guillaume II, where the Grand Ducal couple were welcomed by the Mayor of the City of Luxembourg, Lydie Polfer, for an official tribute to mark the 25th anniversary of his reign in front of the City Hall. This was followed by a concert featuring American jazz singer Dee Dee Bridgewater, who was accompanied by the Orchestre National de Jazz Luxembourg (ONJL).

On Sunday 22 June 2025, the Grand Ducal couple travelled to Esch-sur-Alzette in the late afternoon and visited the commune of Mondercange. In the evening, the Grand Ducal couple and the Grand Ducal family attended the customary events in the City of Luxembourg, where they followed the torchlight procession before admiring the traditional fireworks display alongside local residents.

The city centre was full of DJs and performers stationed directly on the streets, with numerous shows taking place across various locations. A special Sound & Light Show titled “25 Years of Reign” lit up the façade of the Grand Ducal Palace on Rue du Marché-aux-Herbes and played on a loop until 23:45. Concerts were also held on Place d’Armes with Choco y sus Cómplices, on Place de Clairefontaine with Schaman and on Rue du St Esprit, where various DJs performed throughout the evening.

That same evening, the Glacis parking area was once again transformed for the annual City Sounds performances, drawing large crowds. In keeping with tradition, the event was dedicated to electronic music, featuring a lineup of leading international artists including Klingande, BJones and Oliver Heldens, alongside well-known Luxembourg DJs.
