On Friday 13 June 2025, at a press conference held at Luxembourg City Hall, Mayor of Luxembourg City, Lydie Polfer and Alderman for Mobility and City Events, Patrick Goldschmidt, presented details of the full programme for the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the reign of Grand Duke Henri and Luxembourg's National Day.

During the press conference, which was also included First Alderman of the City of Luxembourg, Maurice Bauer, and Head of the Public Spaces, Festivals and Markets Department at the City of Luxembourg, Laurent Schwaller, Mayor Polfer said that, as this was the last National Day to be celebrated before the end of Grand Duc Henri’s reign in October 2025, it would be a “special” occasion and this meant that, unlike previous National Day celebrations, events would take place over three days instead of two.

Mayor Polfer announced that celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the reign of Grand Duke Henri will begin on Saturday 21 June 2025 at 18:20 on Place Guillaume II with a concert by the soul-jazz singer China Moses. Then, at 19:50, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, along with the Grand Ducal family, will exit the Grand Ducal Palace to be welcomed by Mayor Polfer at the entrance to Place Guillaume II. This will be followed by a walkabout, the arrival of guests to the event and the presentation of a commemerative cake to Grand Duke Henri.

The evening will continue with a concert by renowned American jazz singer Dee Dee Bridgewater, which will begin at 21:00, with the Luxembourg National Jazz Orchestra accompanying the performance under the direction of Gast Waltzing. At 22:45, organisers will project a sound and light show entitled "25 Years of Reign" onto the façade of the Grand Ducal Palace in the presence of members of the Grand Ducal family and guests. The festivities will continue with concerts of different styles of music on the Place Guillaume II, Place d'Armes, Place Clairefontaine and on the Rue du St Esprit starting at 23:00.

Alderman Goldschmidt then provided details of the events and various artists and DJs who will perform across the city on Sunday 22 June and Monday 23 June 2025 and said: “I can tell you, everywhere in the city, you will have a good time that evening. There will be a lot of people in the city.

On Sunday 22 June 2025, after the Grand Ducal Couple have returned from visiting Esch-sur-Alzette and the municipality of Mondercange, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa will be joined in the evening by the Grand Ducal Family and will attend customary events in the City of Luxembourg. These include the torchlight procession (“Fakelzuch”), beginning at 21:30 and the traditional firework display launched from the Adolphe Bridge, which will begin at 23:00 and will be accompanied by a musical composition by Maxime Bender.

On Monday 23 June 2025, the National Day programme will begin with an official ceremony, organised by the Government in honour of Grand Duke Henri, at the Philharmonie Luxembourg and in the presence of the Grand Ducal Family. This year, the ceremony will be themed around the 25th anniversary of the accession to the throne. After the ceremony, the Grand Ducal couple and Prince Sebastian will attend the military and non-military parades. Grand Duke Henri and Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume will review the troops. At the invitation of Archbishop Jean-Claude Hollerich, the solemn Te Deum will be celebrated in the afternoon at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Luxembourg-Ville, in the presence of the Grand Ducal couple and the Grand Ducal Family.
