On Wednesday 11 June 2025, the City of Luxembourg (VdL) announced that its Parks Department has begun its search for about fifteen Christmas trees to decorate the capital during the end-of-year holiday season.
Anyone who has a conifer measuring 6-15 metres and wishing to have it felled due to its height is invited to contact the VdL Parks Department before mid-August 2025 via tel.: 4796-3423 or via email: parcdemande@vdl.lu (attaching a photo of the tree, if applicable).
The tree must have an "appropriate appearance, with adequate density and symmetry" and must not be surrounded by other trees.
The Parks Department will be responsible for felling and transporting the fir trees free of charge from mid-October 2025, before placing them in various places in the capital. The reported aim is to "create a warm and festive atmosphere during the end-of-year holidays".
