
The Grand Ducal Police have reported a number of arrests in relation to events which took place between Saturday 31 May and Monday 2 June 2025.
On Sunday 1 June 2025 at approximately 12:00, police received a report of a burglary in a single-family house on Rue de Strasbourg in Luxembourg-Gare, during which two perpetrators gained access to the interior through a broken window and stole a rucksack. Both suspects then fled on foot but were later caught as part of a search. A bank card was found during a body search and both suspects were arrested on the order of the public prosecutor.
In the early evening of Sunday 1 June 2025, a police patrol on Rue du Stade in Esch-sur-Alzette observed a handover between two people, who were suspected of being involved in a drug deal. Both people were arrested immediately. During the check of the suspected drug dealer, cash, several mobile phones, an e-scooter and three drug pellets were secured. Furthermore, the officers were able to observe suspicious swallowing movements in the suspect and a further fifteen bullets were found during a subsequent examination. On the order of the public prosecutor's office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on the morning of Monday 2 June 2025.
On the evening of Saturday 31 May 2025, it was reported that a woman and a man in Beaufort were attacked with an iron rod by a heavily intoxicated neighbour and a bank card was stolen. A police patrol went to the scene immediately and were able to locate the victims. According to initial information, the two people were attacked with a telescopic baton. They were injured in the incident and taken to a hospital for treatment. As part of the investigations, the suspect was found and arrested on the order of the public prosecutor's office. The suspect was brought before an investigating judge who ordered they placed in custody.
On the evening of Monday 2 June 2025, a shoplifting incident was reported to the police in a shop on Route d'Ettelbruck in Ingeldorf. A police patrol went to the scene and was able to find the suspected shoplifter, who showed clear signs of alcohol consumption. During the investigation, the man behaved uncooperatively and insultingly towards the officials. As he had disturbed public order and posed a danger to himself and others, he was taken into custody after a medical examination. The police drew up a shoplifting report.
