
The Grand Ducal Police have reported that they attended more than 30 disputes and disturbances, taking place over a period of 24 hours, between Wednesday 28 May and Thursday 29 May 2025.
On Thursday 29 May 2025 at approximately 06:30, a fight between several people was reported to the police on Rue de Bouillon in Luxembourg-Hollerich. Several police teams immediately went to the scene, where they encountered a large crowd and had to break up a brawl. During the brawl, one person suffered a head injury. She was taken to a hospital for a check-up. Another person showed a slight cut, but he left the area on his own. Further investigations to clarify the incident have been initiated.

On the evening of Wednesday 28 May and the morning of Thursday 29 May 2025, the police had to investigate around 30 incidents due to disputes, fights and night-time noise complaints. In most cases the situation was resolved on the spot.
In the late evening of Wednesday 28 May 2025, a police patrol became aware of a verbal altercation between several men near the Place de la Gare in Luxembourg-Gare. One of the men was intoxicated and uncooperative towards the officers. Due to his condition and the fact that he posed a danger to himself and others, he was taken into custody after a medical examination.
On the night of Thursday 29 May 2025, a fight was reported in front of a restaurant in Diekirch. Several police teams went to the scene but could find no evidence of a fight. However, they did encounter a man and a woman who were having a loud verbal argument. The man behaved uncooperatively towards the officers and had to be immobilised. Due to his condition and his refusal to cooperate with the officers, he was handcuffed and taken into custody after a medical examination. Three officers received minor injuries during the operation.
Further investigations into the previously reported brawl revealed that one of the people involved was injured. They were no longer present at the scene but were located by the police shortly after. In both cases, the police drew up reports.
