The Grand Ducal Police have reported that they responded to a report of a suspicious substance at a building in Esch-sur-Alzette on Wednesday 14 May 2025.
At approximately 09:30 on Wednesday morning, a suspicious substance was reported to have arrived by post at a building on Rue du Nord in Esch-sur-Alzette.
The police, along with Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) personnel, were immediately dispatched to the scene. The building was evacuated as a precaution and the street was closed for the duration of the operation.
Initial analyses ruled out any danger posed by the substance which was confiscated and taken to a laboratory for further analysis.
The police and fire brigade operation ended around 13:30 on Wednesday.
