The Grand Ducal Police have reported that they recently arrested suspects following separate incidents of theft and a home burglary in Luxembourg City.

On the morning of Friday 9 May 2025, the police received reports of a gold chain (necklace) being stolen at the train station in Luxembourg-Pfaffenthal. The victim was approached by one perpetrator, while a second perpetrator ripped the gold chain from his neck. Two suspects were apprehended following an immediate manhunt. Further investigations linked both suspects to a previous telephone theft. They were arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor's office. The previously stolen chain was also found and returned to the victim.

Shortly before 02:00 on Saturday 10 May 2025, the police were notified of a burglary on Rue Xavier de Feller in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie. A resident of an apartment building heard noises in the basement and immediately notified the police. When officers entered the building, they spotted two people with torches inside an apartment. Both attempted to escape, but one person was immediately immobilised. The other perpetrator fled after a scuffle with one of the police officers by jumping several metres from a balcony. Despite immediate pursuit, the officers did not manage to catch the suspect. The second suspect was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor's office. One police officer was slightly injured in the scuffle. Further investigations have been initiated.
