The Grand Ducal Police have confirmed the launch of investigations following recent fires in Bridel and Bertrange.

Shortly after noon on Saturday 10 May 2025, a fire was reported on Rue de Luxembourg in Bridel. The fire had started in the gardens of two houses but did not spread to the houses. However, due to the intense heat, the roof of one of the neighbouring houses caught fire shortly afterward. Firefighters managed to quickly extinguish the fire. No one was injured, but the blaze caused significant property damage. The technical police department was tasked with investigating the cause of the fire.

Shortly after 17:00 on Saturday, there were reports that a lorry was on fire on a site on Rue du Chemin de Fer in Bertrange. Firefighters and police officers immediately went to the scene. By the time emergency services arrived, the fire had already spread to other lorries. The police noted that the fire was quickly brought under control. No one was injured during the operation, but a total of five lorries and a chipper were completely destroyed in the blaze. Another lorry and three cars were also damaged. The public prosecutor's office tasked the technical police with investigating the cause of the fire.
