The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a man attempting to leave Luxembourg on board a flight to Dublin was arrested at the airport’s departure checkpoint on Sunday 27 April 2025.
During an identity check that morning, officials found that the 26-year-old Portuguese national was wanted by the Portuguese authorities and subject to a European Arrest Warrant for attempted murder and possession of prohibited weapons. He is accused of having fired multiple shots at another person last year.
Following official procedures, the individual was transferred to the Centre Pénitentiaire Uerschterhaff (prison) in Sanem and was due to appear before an investigating judge on Monday 28 April 2025.
